About Us
We are the elite crackpot team that serves LA Marathon runners super sloppy chili cheese dogs.
It's a ritual.
It's a tradition.
It's a terrible idea.
It keeps happening.
It all started 12 years ago.
Alex breathlessly approached JP one evening and pitched the idea of serving up super-sloppy chili cheese dogz at mile five of the LA Marathon. JP said: "That sounds like a terrible idea." Alex said "I know, right? It's elegantly stupid!" JP Understood and then they almost immediately settled on the phrases for their six iconic sandwich signs that runners see as they approach our tables on the marathon route.
SSCCD was founded by longtime collaborators, Alex Kenefick (left. beard.) and Julianna [JP] Parr (right. fun tie.) who are also the founders of DocuMART™, SparkleBlob Chuckwagon and Dance Pavilion, Fairy Pancakes, Flamby Bamby Pram Jam (the Lonestar Sessions), various puppet shows, and other dying arts.
Not photographed is our Snack Czar, LeBronica, who is secret, and covert, and does not wish to be documented at this time so that she can keep us in operations. We pretty much can't do much of anything without LeBronica, so we're okay that you have no idea what she looks like. Her name rhymes with harmonica, which is just the BEST.
Alex works for CalTrans as a Senior Transportation Planner and JP works for Akbar as a bartender, and is also a professional and freelance artist. That's primarily how we do capitalism, but we have so many interests outside our jobs, like chili dogs, trains, the human experience, mistakes, nature, and bicycles.
